Sri Krishnadevaraya University started working as the Post Graduate (PG) centre of Sri Venkateswara University in 1968. In the year 1976, it has gained self-sufficiency. Fulfilling the desires of the people of the state, the Autonomous PG centre was given the status of the University in the Year 1981. At the time, it is catering to the higher educational needs of the revenue districts of Anantapur & Kurnool.
Post Graduate (PG) courses & research programmes are currently provided by the University at the University College, Anantapur and at the PG centre, Kurnool. The University College provides 38 PG courses through 28 departments. 11 PG courses are being organized at the PG centre, Kurnool through eight departments.
